Over the years, the renowned artist Monica Bonvicini (*1965) has developed a concise visual language and a cross-media approach. With her installations, drawings, and sculptures, she raises questions about gender and power relations in the most diverse contexts. She deals with the fields of architecture, sexuality as well as politics, and representation, whose connections she reveals. With the first institutional solo presentation in Berlin, the Berlinische Galerie honors the artist and her special significance for the city. On the occasion of the site-specific exhibition, an exhibition catalog/artist's book will be published with texts on Bonvicini's work and numerous illustrations.
